Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (www.verizonbusiness.com) announced Monday it has signed a $ 5 million with the NATO Command, Control and Communications (www.nc3a.nato.int Agency) to provide the Agency Network and security services.
The agreement, which covers two years with an option to extend for one year, will see Belgium, Teleco, based on the security division of Cybertrust Verizon apply a “highly resilient virtual private network” for about 30 places in the existing network of agency, says Verizon.
Verizon Business will provide secure gateway and the Internet, and public key encryption infrastructure network users NATO C3 Agency.
The announcement comes on the heels of Verizon Business’ new partnership with the provider of security solutions at McAfee, where companies offer integrated security solutions for enterprises and government agencies worldwide.
Created 50 years ago, NATO is a security alliance of 28 countries in North America and Europe working in meeting the objectives of the North Atlantic Treaty.
The NATO C3 agency provides the alliance with the query, command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
“Because of its international composition and the special mission, NATO has a unique set of security requirements,” says Susan Zeleniak, group president of Verizon Federal. “With our global network of security experts and extensive experience in government, Verizon Business is particularly suitable for secure communications for this illustrious military and political alliance.”
Security solutions, Verizon Business is designed to help government agencies and management companies security risks and protect critical company assets.
Services include governance risk and compliance management solutions, and data loss prevention solutions and protection, identity management solutions and managed security services.
