Verizon and McAfee Develop Cloud-based Security Services

Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (www.verizonbusiness.com) and security solutions provider McAfee (www.mcafee.com) announced today that it has formed a partnership to offer integrated security solutions for enterprises and government agencies worldwide.

Through this agreement, Verizon Business will offer the full line of McAfee security products and service company. By contrast, McAfee access to Verizon Business data center outsourcing and consulting expertise and managed services capabilities.

But perhaps the most intriguing part of this agreement is that the two companies will jointly develop a series of cloud-based services managed security.

The services come at an opportune time, as more communications functions have resulted in taking companies to provide services in the cloud faster implementation, increased security and lower costs.

“This strategic partnership with McAfee allows us to drive more complete and integrated IT solutions for companies around the world,” said Kerry Bailey, senior vice president of global solutions for Verizon Business. “Verizon Business will expand further and touch all aspects of corporate security for companies to do business with confidence in this digital age. Our newly expanded capabilities of next generation cloud enable organizations to better utilize the security as a strategic tool and enabler of business. ”

Verizon Business offers McAfee security solutions to enterprise customers through its portfolio of customer premises equipment. Verizon’s partnership offers customers a wider range of new security offerings, while McAfee helps to significantly expand its worldwide distribution channel.

Additionally, Verizon Business will soon offer the services of McAfee PCI compliance for banks and other organizations that support Level 4 merchants, who drive less than 20,000 ecommerce transactions or up to 1 million credit card transactions each year.

According to the press release, Level 4 merchants are considered at higher risk for rape and represents 99 percent of all businesses and approximately one third of all credit card transactions. In the past, Verizon Business services in accordance with the PCI is focused on larger volume of traders and banks.

New cloud of companies based managed solutions being developed platform is based on Verizon Managed security services, global IP infrastructure, hubs advanced security, data center footprint and safety technology McAfee driven by its global threat intelligence.

Verizon Business will manage these new security services in the cloud, which will offer a selection of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention services, anti-malware, content control and Secure Sockets Layer virtual private network.

Designed for small businesses to medium-term, large corporations and government agencies, the new solutions provide companies with strong security including IP connectivity, greater security integration with other protected properties and greater flexibility.

Verizon and McAfee offer these new solutions in North America, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
