Telecommunications provider Telehouse Europe (www.telehouse.net) announced on Wednesday that his company is establishing neutral data centers in South Africa.
This expansion in South Africa commemorates the first inning of a major Japanese phone company in Africa.
The company currently has more than 20 data centers worldwide, including facilities in the United Kingdom, France, USA and Asia. The company recently completed a 80 million U.S. dollars Telehouse data center west of London.
Telehouse Europe Terace selected data environments (www.teraco.co.za) as the home of their facilities.
Under the agreement opens the Telehouse data center space devoted Terace Cape Town and Johannesburg under the brand name and named Telehouse Telehouse Telehouse Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively.
Terace work, support and maintain the facilities at Telehouse global performance standards, which focuses on power, cooling, security and customer-focused operations.
“Telehouse has an impressive heritage in the field of data centers, a strong international client base and reputation transport of high levels of reliability and safety,” says Lex van Wyk, CEO of Terace. “We have built a unique facility in South Africa, and hopefully through Telehouse global relations, to further expand the choice of carriers, networks and providers of services to customers within our facilities.”
Cape Terace site of the city opened its doors in February and will open the site of Johannesburg in early 2010.
Both sites offer high levels of power, cooling, backup and security and space for future expansion, says Terace.
