The news comes just a couple of months after the managed services provider SunGard Availability Services has announced that it became a SAP Hosting Partner in the U.S., allowing the company to offer hosting services for SAP applications .
After the transaction, support for hosting SAP software applications by around 90 SAP customers will be transferred to T-Systems. The firms emphasis that the operation will not involve the transfer of personnel or assets.
SAP provides enterprise software applications and services to more than 89,000 customers in over 120 countries.
The operation highlights the position of T-Systems as a leading provider of SAP services, and the company believes the acquisition of SAP Hosting business outside as an opportunity to generate steady growth in the world.
The transaction is expected to be completed in early October, pending approval by antitrust authorities.
