Ouran highschool Host Club is a manga series by Bisco Hatori, serialized in Hakusensha’s LaLa mag since Aug five, 2003.
The series follows Haruhi Fujioka, a grant student at Ouran highschool, and the other members of the favored host club. The romantic comedy concentrates on the relations inside and without the Club and satirises the clichs and stereotypes that endure in series directed at girls. There also are occasional points where the characters “break the 4th wall”.
The manga has been changed into a chain of audio dramas, an animated TV series directed by Takuya Igarashi and produced by Bones, and a visible novel by Idea Factory. Haruhi Fujioka is a grant student at Ouran high school, a fictional faculty found in Bunky, Tokyo. Thanks to the exorbitant value of the faculty uniform, Haruhi resorts to wearing long slacks, polo shirts and vests. Combined with her massive glasses and messed up short hair, Haruhi’s look causes her to be confused for a boy.
Searching for a quiet place to observe, Haruhi stumbles on the 3rd Music Room, a place where the Ouran high school host club gathers, a group of 6 very interesting male scholars. During their first meeting, Haruhi incidentally knocks over and breaks a vase priced at 8,000,000 and is told she was in debt to them for her action. She then joins the club, dressed like a boy to pay off her debt. ( In the U. S. British manga the amount is US$80,000 ). The Ouran Personal Academy incorporates kindergarten to 12th grade. Most students come from loaded families but, in rare occasions, special grants are granted to scholars from a lower revenue bracket. The college’s unlicensed motto is “Lineage counts first, wealth a close second,” meaning students with stellar family backgrounds are given top concern over those from rich families but low social standing. Tamaki thought up the Host Club whilst in ninth grade and began it on entering the Ouran highschool. The members of the Host Club are highest ranking scholars at the college. At Ouran highschool, class is decided by lineage and intelligence ( “A” is the highest class and “D” the lowest customarily composed of the children of Yakuza leaders ).
All of the members are in class An and have a tendency to be number 1 or 2 in their class coming from the richest families in Japan with the exception of the twins and Haruhi.
The twins are ranked 4th and 5th in their class and Haruhi is a grant student receiving the special privilege of being in class A thanks to her grant standing ( she is ranked number one in her year ). Shoppers have the liberty to select which host will entertain them, playing to their explicit wants and interests. Each member of the host club is a special “type” which suits different consumers. Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin and “Hunny” and “Mori” also show off respective close relations to please or entertain buyers though in the truthfulness of these relationship’s are rather suspect. Also Takashi Morinozuka, called “Mori” follows Mitsukuni Haninozuka, called “Hunny” as a best chum. Tamaki Suoh is the leader of the club, and its creator and Kyoya Ootori manages all of the events for the club. The 3rd Music Room has been fitted out by the Club to house their business and, often, it has got a categorical theme, starting from a tropical shangri la to a normal picnic, to increase the customers’ pleasure and keep things engaging.
Haruhi is the androgynous hero of the tale and the Natural type.
She comes out of a lower-class family, but is extremely smart, so she’s a grant student at Ouran.
Her mum died when she was five years of age and so her cross-dressing pa raises her on his very own. She could be a reputedly boring and disinclined hero who has no interest in pretty and flashy things, sweet food, or frivolous males. The members of the Host Club all have a kind of weakness for her and either brazenly or anonymously like her. Haruhi seems as if she does not care about the host club member’s feelings ; however, she studies each one of them individually and cares for them all much. The twins start to notice that Haruhi seems to care more for Tamaki than she appears to demonstrate, that has caused some conflict. Haruhi later realizes that she has feelings for Tamaki.
The president of the Host club and the Prince type. He is very keen and kind, always prepared to help folk, and has an interest in many things. He is considered the most enticing of the hosts, as he is the prince “type” and the president of the club.
Also he is terribly clever ( second in his class behind Kyoya ), and a talented piano player. He is terribly sincere in what he asserts, and takes his role to delight girls seriously, which stems from his deep love of his mummy.
However, the other club members recognize him as a fool almost all of the time as he is awfully dense about his very own eventualities ( though keen about others ), extremely stupid and melodramatic on occassion, and rather greedy and vain. He’s also got a wierd obsession for the “commoner’s lifestyle” and loves ramen and instant coffee ( considered “commoner food” ). He considers the Host Club to be a family and named himself pop and Kyoya as the mum. His dad is the super of Ouran highschool and his folks is an example of the richest in Japan. His mummy was compelled to leave him so he would hopefully one day be recognized as the successor of the Suoh family by his grandma, who does not like him.
Tamaki is half-French and half-Japanese and said to be really pretty. He later finds he has feelings for Haruhi, yet, he thinks this like to be fatherly love and not romantic. Later, in chapter sixty-seven of the manga, he comes to understand that he is indeed in love with Haruhi, not as a ‘father’ but as a man.
The VP of the Host club and the Cool type. He is frequently called “Mother” by Tamaki and “Shadow King” by the remainder of the club.
He is behind almost all of the Host Club schemes and the other club members have a tendency to go with whatever Kyoya announces, occasionally even favoring his leadership over Tamaki’s.
Despite their opposite personalities, Kyoya and Tamaki have been best buddies since their last year of middle college, when Tamaki moved to Ouran. He’s a 3rd child and has spent his entire life respecting his folks name and yielding his true capabilities in order to not cast a shadow over his siblings ; however, it is clear that Kyoya has more aspiration, drive, and talent than both. Across the series Kyoya refers back to the fact that as he’s a 3rd child he will not inheirit his dad business and appears sour about this towards his dad. He also manages the majority of the finances with the club and has a practice of not exhibiting vital info to the other hosts till the difficulty to hand is already over. Matching twins who used to reject others and are the Tiny Demon types. Only in the near past after they joined the Host Club did they start to open and permit folks into their world. They are the same age as Haruhi and are in her class, and so have a special bond with her ; Haruhi was the 1st and only person who is ready to tell the twins apart though it’s been exposed that Tamaki also could for a period of time, something that both had anonymously longed for. They enjoy playing “games” and tricks on classmates, particularly Tamaki.
Hikaru, on the other hand, is awfully juvenile and rather mean, but often as he has difficulty expressing his feelings. The twins later on discover that they too bay feelings for Haruhi. Kaoru does not love Haruhi enough to need her only for himself ( as he values his relationship with his bro more ), so he ends up letting Hikaru be the twin who loves her romantically. After this development, the twins start to attempt welcoming their differences, even going as far as changing Hikaru’s hair color so that others can tell them apart. A. K. A “Honey” and the Loli-Shota type. He appears to be a primary school kid instead of the 17-year-old third-year student he really is. Honey is obsessive about candy and anything lovable, very similar to his youthful appearance would dictate.
Honey is adored by the other characters for his cuteness and has a nickname for everybody like Haru-chan for Haruhi. Honey carries a plush bunny called “Usa-chan” around with him. Regardless of his childish looks, he is deceptively powerful and highly talented in king fu skills. He is generally found with Mori, his cousin by wedding. Honey comes out of a family that owns a nationally-renown dojo and are famous for their self-defense skills capabilities. In one episode it was announced if his full combat capabilities were unleashed, he would be considered a threat to state security. Though it would appear to be a cover, his cute side and heavy side are both extremely real. After Tamaki explains to him that being himself is true strength, he resolves never to modify.
Mori dedicates his life to Honey by safeguarding him and only gets indignant when Honey is wounded or mistreated. However, he is also awfully close with the other club members and many classmates look up to him due to his quiet but peaceful nature.
He customarily only speaks when he deems it obligatory, and responds to questions often with monosyllabic answers.
Mori’s family has served Honey’s family for years, till a wedding 2 generations back made them cousins. Though the servant-master bond was technically damaged, Mori still serves faithfully as Honey’s guardian and best buddy.
