Mobile Cloud Computing Subscribers to Total Nearly One Billion by 2014, According to ABI Research

ABI Research expects the number of mobile computer users worldwide clouds grow rapidly over the next five years, from 42.8 million subscribers in 2008, (approximately 1.1% of all mobile subscribers) to just more than 998 million in 2014 (almost 19%). Cloud applications move mobile computing power and data storage outside of mobile phones and in the cloud, so that applications and mobile computing to smart phone users, but not only a much broader range of subscribers phones.

ABI Research recently launched a major study of mobile computing in the cloud that the company believes is the first published report to examine this model of technology in depth.

According to analyst Mark Beccue, “From 2008 until 2010, the number of subscribers will be driven by location-enabled services, including navigation and mapping applications. A total of 60% of all mobile subscribers throughout implementation of clouds the world use an application enabled by place during these years. ”

Some very innovative applications are now commercially available. Beccue concludes by reiterating his claim that, “By the year 2014, mobile computing cloud will become the leader in mobile application development and deployment strategy, the movement of mobile applications today and downloadable native.”

A new study from ABI Research’s “Mobile Computing Cloud” details of mobile applications that will lead the growth, the main technologies, players and initiatives in question, new business models to be introduced, and barriers to be overcome. Forecasts include subscribers and revenue by region and category of application using mobile applications in the cloud.
