Intermedia promoting director Danny Essner declared the rollout is the product of an exclusive cooperation with Microsoft as the only hosting supplier in the Technology Adoption Program. “We made a decision to make the beta available in a hosted version so that Intermedia could test the infrastructure to host Exchange 2010 if it becomes a commercial product shortly or early next year,” Essner said.

[It] also give[s] our partners and customers the chance to begin to get their hands on the new software and the new interface, that has some cool features they do not have to install any software or anything – it’s simply a turn-key hosted solution just like our commercial hosted exchange offering.

A critical part of Microsoft’s “next generation” unified communications software, Exchange Server 2010 will remain in beta till the second half 2009, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft Exchange company vice president Rajesh Jha recounted, “This release raises the bar with new backing up and end-user inventions which will help corporations save cash and staff save time.”. The new release guarantees to simplify the administration of always-on communications and disaster recovery. Exchange 2010 is also the 1st product in Microsoft’s new wave of highly-integrated “Office” product, that will include Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Visio 2010 and Microsoft Project 2010.
