HP, a technology solutions supplier, today made an announcement about new enhancements to its Business Service Automation software suite to help consumers better manage and reduce operational expenses related to virtualized information centers. HP Storage Essentials – a standards-based storage resource management software, helps shoppers manage the increased storage needs of virtualized info centers by optimizing capacity grant and function.
HP Operations Orchestration – a run book automation software that automates situation resolution, change orchestration and routine upkeep jobs in the information center.
This new release permits clients to reduce operational costs by better provisioning and repurposing servers and storage without service down time.
It explains that virtualization can help IT bodies consolidate resources, cut capital expenditures and meet changing business needs. However, the disadvantage of virtualization can be higher operational costs due to increased complexity and storage management needs. The new offerings are made to help purchasers address these challenges so they can realize the advantages of the virtualization technology. “Some shoppers have reduced the period of time it took to provision and configure servers by 85 p.c by trying HP Business Service Automation software,” announced Michel Feaster, senior director, Products, Business Service Automation Software, HP. “Unlike other vendors that focus only on virtualized infrastructure or individual infrastructure silos, HP offers an integrated server, storage, network, customer and process automation solution to coordinate the deployment of IT applications in virtual and physical infrastructures.”.
