Designed to improve site performance for European users to move content closer to the end user, the new facility will be owned and operated by Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Go Daddy.
“Spending the money upfront and not outsourcing operations that the control of key factors such as uptime, security and speed” Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons told Data Center Knowledge. “Nobody will take better care of our customers that we – nobody.”
While Go Daddy did not give the specific location of the facility, Amsterdam is without doubt one of the largest data markets in Central Europe, which offers a lucrative center connectivity for online traffic.
Go Daddy manages more than 36 million domains for 7 million customers, making it one of the largest registrar of its kind. With growing interest in Europe, according to the Data Center Knowledge, Go Daddy is hoping to win customers in Germany, France, Britain and Spain, all of which have Internet penetration double the world average.
